Communication comes in various aspects. Choice of words and content plays a key role here. Non-verbal communication however is related to how you portray yourself such as your body language, tone of voice or facial expressions as you speak. You want to ensure you capture their attention and show you are well versed with your words, hence delivering a certain message. Sloppiness in the way you give out your message shows lack of confidence.
Critical thinking helps us to make good decisions, understanding the consequences of our actions and solve problems. This I feel should be instilled in you from the beginning. As future leaders, we must be able to evaluate our decision making and how these decisions ultimately impact results.

Overall, communication and critical thinking are values that you should uphold to not only as a leader, but as a human being in general. How you converse with people, the body language, interest shown and how you make decisions should be practiced particularly as a leader. This is how people like PM Lee can convey messages well to Singaporeans. Decisive and compassionate leaders.
